Residents of Okitipupa Local Government Area in Ondo State were plunged into mourning on Tuesday following the killing of three children in a suspected domestic incident.
The victims, reportedly from the same extended family, were attacked inside their home in what community sources described as a tragic and shocking event.
One of the deceased was a female student enrolled in the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), alongside her cousin and another young boy. The third victim was the biological son of the suspect, who is believed to be mentally unstable.
Community sources said the suspect allegedly attacked before fleeing the scene, leaving residents in disbelief.
A resident, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the incident as devastating, noting that the victims were closely related and had promising futures.
Further findings indicated that the family head, identified as Baba Agbaye, had earlier left the house with his wife and youngest child for their farm. They reportedly encountered the suspect upon their return, unaware that the incident had already occurred at home.
