Transfer: Brighton reignite interest in Calvin Bassey

Date:

Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey from Dutch giants Ajax.

Bassey was on the radar of the Seagulls last summer, but he opted to join Ajax.

Ajax paid Rangers £18.7 million to secure his services.

The Premier League club are now set to reignite their interest in the versatile defender.

The 23-year-old was widely criticised after a mixed first season in the Netherlands.

Reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Brighton’s interest in the left-back.

“Kudus remain on Brighton list—also Calvin Bassey included as CB,” Romano tweeted.
