Transfer: Giovanni Scotto names club Osimhen will join

Date:

Italian pundit Giovanni Scotto has named the clubs he believes Nigeria international Victor Osimhen would join in the summer.

According to him, French Ligue1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain hold the upper hand in signing the player.

This is despite keen interest from the likes of English Premier League sides, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Osimhen is expected to leave the Diego Maradona Stadium at the end of the season despite having a contract that should keep at the club till 2025.

Napoli are planning to use the money from the sale of Osimhen to rebuild the squad for next season.

Chelsea are in dire need of a striker and have identified Osimhen as a top target.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side, however, face the challenge of complying with Financial Fair Play Regulations, FFP, which could be the main obstacle to a potential deal.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sign Osimhen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappé.

“De Laurentiis was reassured: Osimhen’s 120 million will come , I believe from Paris Saint Germain,” Scotto told CalcioNapoli, via Area Napoli.

“This money will compensate for the lost Champions League revenues and partially those from the Club World Cup.”
