Transfer window: Boca Juniors chief Riquelme drops Villarreal hint for Cavani

Boca Juniors vice-president Juan Roman Riquelme can see Edinson Cavani joining Villarreal.

The Uruguay striker remains a free agent after coming off contract at Manchester United this summer.

Riquelme is a legend at Villarreal and revealed: “I spoke to him two and a half years ago.

“There was a lot of talk, but he was always very clear with me. When we have the chance for a star to come to our club, we do not hesitate.

“Cavani was very clear with me. He told me he had talked to Villarreal.”
