Transfer window: Juventus prepare £65m bid for Man City attacker Gabriel Jesus

Juventus are ready to launch a bid for Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus.

The Daily Star says the Brazil forward has become a fringe first-team figure this season for Pep Guardiola’s treble chasers. And while he may get a rare start in City’s FA Cup quarter-final trip to Southampton on Sunday, Jesus’ Etihad future beyond this season is in doubt.

The English champions are on the hunt for a top, world-class goalscorer – and are hot favourites to land Borussia Dortmund ace Erling Haaland this summer. And if they do, that will be the trigger for Juventus to test City’s resolve to keep Jesus, who will have another year to run on his current £90,000-a-week contract.

The Italian giants reckon the fee will be around £65million – and are optimistic that Jesus, 24, will be tempted at the prospect of swapping the Premier League for Serie A.

With the World Cup coming up in December, he wants and needs to be playing regularly at club level to nail down a place in the Brazil squad.
