Transfer window: Liverpool laugh off Sadio Mane £25m valuation

Liverpool want closer to £42.5million for Sadio Mane if he leaves this summer, following reports of £25million Bayern Munich interest.

The Reds’ summer transfer window has begun with talk of a notable exit from Jurgen Klopp’s ranks. Mane was the manager’s first big signing up front and he has subsequently proved a vital cog in the side.

However, he only has one year left on his contract and having won every trophy available to him at Liverpool, he wants a new challenge.

Indeed, Mane turned 30 in April and so is eyeing potentially the last big contract of his career.

He will reportedly soon Liverpool that he wants to leave and the Reds are awaiting contact from Bayern. The German champions have looked at the Senegal star and reckon they can sign him for £25million.

According to The Athletic, though, the Reds have laughed off such suggestions.

Instead, Liverpool want closer to £42.5million given Mane is still in tip-top shape after entering his thirties.

What’s more, Liverpool’s Fenway Sports Group (FSG) owners would much rather keep him this summer and accept the risk of losing their star man for free.

But if Mane does head for the exit door, Liverpool want a replacement lined up before he leaves.
