U-17 WWCQ: Flamingos thrash Central African Republic 6-0 in Douala

Nigeria’s Flamingos thrashed Central African Republic 6-0 in the first leg of their 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup second qualifying round tie in Douala on Sunday.

Harmony Chidi opened the floodgates as early as the fifth minute, while Prisca Nwachukwu doubled Nigeria’s advantage six minutes before the break.

Chidi got her second and Nigeria’s third of the game on 42 minutes, before Shakirat Moshood also got in on the act in the 45th minute with Nigeria’s fourth.

The Flamingos refused to lift their feet off the pedal after the break, as Etim Edidiong made it five in the 57th minute, and Moshood got her brace in the 72nd minute by making it six for Nigeria.

The return leg match will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Friday, 9th February 2024.

This year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals will be staged in the Dominican Republic.
