U17 AFCON: Wasteful Golden Eaglets pay price as Morocco beat Nigeria

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets lost 1-0 to Morocco in their second Group B game at the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

Tochukwu Ogboji conceded an own goal in the second minute to hand the Atlas Cubs maximum points in the game.

The Golden Eaglets took control of the game despite trailing so early but were let down by their poor marksmanship.

The Moroccans, who defended stoutly throughout the game rarely troubled the Golden Eaglets defence after scoring their goal.

Morocco are now through to the quarter-finals after two wins of two games.

The Golden Eaglets will now face South Africa in their last group game on Saturday.

South Africa and Zambia will clash in the other group game later today.
