UK Sports outfit begins scouting for young football talents In Nigeria

Date:

A United Kingdom sports outfit, Anchor Sports & Properties has set aside 12th and 13th March this year for scouting talented youths in the field of football in Nigeria.

Nigeria’s Director of the firm, Abdulgafar Oladimeji made this known during a press briefing held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano State, northwestern Nigeria.

He said considering the number of talents that God blessed Nigeria with in the field of sports, especially football, the firm decided to step in, in order to give chance to those that the eyes of the world can’t see.

“Basically, our aim is to select the best that will make us proud in the upcoming world players search (FIDO 2022) in Switzerland.

“FIDO is an international conglomerate that is organizing talented players: display and gives coaches and representatives of renowned clubs chance to select or recruit for their teams,” Oladimeji added.

According to him, they are interested in taking 24 players to the FIDO event that will come up May this year in Switzerland.

“We selected Kano to host the search because of youths that are keenly interested in football in the State and its strategic position to receive candidates from other States of the federation.

“The age range of the player must be within 17 – 21 years, it’s absolutely free from the search, down to the traveling to Switzerland for the FIDO event. We have received a number of calls from Lagos, Delta, Abuja, Kaduna etc to confirm participation,” he added.
