WAFCON 2022: Waldrum insists World Cup ticket remains Falcons priority

Randy Waldrum insisted that despite earning only three points from two matches, the Super Falcons are not in any way disoriented and still have the FIFA World Cup ticket and retain the continental trophy as principal objectives at the tournament in Morocco.

The team bounced back from its opening day defeat to South Africa and recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Botswana on Thursday.

A win against Burundi on Sunday means the nine-time Champions will join South Africa in the last eight from Group C.

“We know what the Women Africa Cup means to Nigerians and we remain fully focused despite the opening-day setback.”

“We are determined not only to win a ticket to the FIFA World Cup but also to retain the trophy that Nigeria has won nine times previously.”

The Super Falcons are the defending Champions of the Women’s African Cup of Nations.
