WAFU: Flying Eagles goalkeeper dedicates trophy to Chelsea legend, Petr Cech

Flying Eagles goalkeeper, Nathaniel Nwosu has dedicated his 2022 WAFU B U20 Championship winners’ medal to Chelsea icon Petr Čech.

The Nigerian team beat Benin 3-1 on Friday to clinch the trophy with two goals from Tolulope Ojo and one from Ibrahim Muhammad.

Nwosu described the former Chelsea goalkeeper as his hero and role model while revealing his admiration for the Premier League legend.

The ex-Czech Republic goalkeeper celebrated his 40th birthday on Friday, May 20.

In quotes relayed by Savid News, Nwosu said, “Happy birthday Petr Cech, I’m happy you are adding another year on a day I’m winning a trophy.

“You have been my role model since age five and I’m dedicating this trophy to you. Happy birthday my hero.”

Cech was hired as the technical and performance advisor at Chelsea in the 2019-2020 season
