WAFU U20: Flying Eagles off to Togo for title defence

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles departed for Togo on Tuesday to compete in the WAFU B U-20 Championship.

The team flew out from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The traveling group consists of a 20-man squad, coaching staff, additional support personnel, and officials from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

They had the final phase of their preparation at the Remo Stars training complex in Ikenne.

The Flying Eagles, who are the defending champions of the competition, will face Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire in Group B.

Aliyu Zubairu’s side will take on Burkina Faso in their opening fixture at the Municipal Stadium, Lome on Friday.

The game will kick off at 3pm local time.
