Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to the comprehensive transformation of Iwoland, describing the town as a key pillar of support in the state’s development over the past three years.
In a post on the state’s X handle on Saturday, the governor thanked the people of Iwoland for their prayers and backing, noting that their support has been critical to sustaining his administration’s development agenda across the state.
Adeleke specifically acknowledged the Isokan Musulumi of Iwoland, led by Sheikh Mogaji, for their courtesy visit to his Abere office. The delegation, which included the Chief Imam of Iwoland, the Wazirin Musulumi of Yorubaland, members of the TAWUNU group, and other prominent Islamic clerics, engaged in discussions on strategies to accelerate development in the town.

“The outcome of our efforts is evident. Iwo is embracing modernity. In under three years, we have constructed nearly 20 kilometres of roads within Iwoland, rehabilitated Iwo Waterworks with plans to relay water pipes across the town, and approved the upgrading of Iwo General Hospital. Over 30 boreholes have been sunk, and the collapsed Adeeke Bridge has been rebuilt,” he said.
The governor also commended the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and its chapters for their consistent prayers and advocacy for Iwoland’s progress, describing them as strong partners in development through active engagement with his aides.
Traditional worshippers were not left out, as Adeleke praised their confidence and support for his administration. He highlighted that broad interfaith backing remains a major asset for peace and development in the town.
Adeleke further thanked the Iwo Board of Trustees, led by Professor Lai Olurode, for its constructive engagement with his office on key developmental initiatives.
