Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has explained why he was determined to secure a permanent move back to Galatasaray.

Galatasaray made headlines in Turkish football history by completing Osimhen’s €75 million transfer from Napoli.

Osimhen arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday night and met with the yellow-red fans at Ataturk Airport.

The 26-year-old’s signing ceremony will be held at Rams Park before the Lazio match on Saturday.

Speaking to GSTV, Osimhen said he fought so hard to return to Galatasaray after spending last season on loan at the Turkish Super Lig champions because of the deep connection he has with the club, the city and the people.

“I have a deep connection with this club, this city, these people. That’s why I fought so hard to return here,” Osimhen said.

“I continue to have that feeling, to continue playing with a purpose.

“I want to do what’s best for myself and the fans, and I’m really happy to be here,” he said.
