Looking ahead to Belgrade

March is a busy year for the sport with two major international events taking place.

Tthe World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships Muscat 22, taking place from 4-5 March, is the first World Athletics Series event of 2022 and brings together more than 300 of the world’s best race walkers in the Omani capital.

Just two weeks later, the World Athletics Indoor Championships Belgrade 22 will be held in the Serbian capital from 18-20 March. The indoor season is in full swing and many of the world’s best athletes have already produced some stunning performances on the World Athletics Indoor Tour. Many Olympic champions are also set to compete in Belgrade, so the standard of the competition is expected to be extremely high.

The busy upcoming month sets the tone for much of the rest of the year, as there are three other World Athletics Series events due to be held later in 2022.
