Arsenal crock Thomas Partey has been named in Ghana’s squad for friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua this month.
Partey, 29, has not played for the Gunners since the 3-0 win at Bournemouth more than a fortnight ago after suffering another thigh injury.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta did not appear hopeful last week the former Atletico Madrid midfielder would be available anytime soon, saying “he will be [ruled] out for a while”.
But that has not stopped Ghana from calling him up as part of a 29-man squad for friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua on September 23 and 27 respectively.
Four other Premier League stars have also been called up to represent the Black Stars, namely Brighton, Southampton and Leicester defenders Tariq Lamptey, Mohammed Salisu and Daniel Amartey, along with Jordan Ayew of Crystal Palace.
