World Cup: He’s going home a hero – Jay Jay hails Cameroon star after win over Brazil

Super Eagles of Nigeria legend, Austin Jay Jay has hailed Cameroon goalkeeper, Devis Epassy following his outstanding display against Brazil in the World Cup on Friday.

Cameroon beat Brazil 1-0 but the result was not enough to take the Indomitable Lions to the next round of the Qatar World Cup.

This was because of the result of the other game in the group which ended 3-2 in favour of Switzerland.

Cameroon captain, Vincent Aboubakar headed home the only goal of the night in the 92nd minute but was red-carded for taking off his shirt.

Epassy stopped Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli goal-bound effort in the 15th minute and produced another save to deny the Premier League star before halftime.

Epassy also saved a header from Guimaraes to preserve Cameroon’s lead at stoppage time.

Okocha told SuperSport, “He’s going home as a hero, made a very good fantastic save here.

“It was all about his positioning, he made it look easy because he was in the right position and they’ve managed to follow up as well and pushed that one over.”
