2024 Olympic: European Based Pros To Join U23 Eagles Next Week – Salisu Yusuf

European based players will join their Nigeria U23 Eagles counterparts in Abuja next week.

Salisu had first training session for 30 invited home based players in Abuja on Monday and having noticed department where other professional will be needed to fortify the team, he has decided to invite foreign based players to join them next week.

“We have already 30 players in camp already. And if you look at them, they are all NPFL players who came from various club sides. So, we want to see what we can add to the team to have a balance and still we have room for some professionals because the other teams have professionals too.

“Also, we still have other players who did very well in the last game. We want to find where we can find a balance for all these players and take out 23 out of this pool of players. I think it’s a good thing that the league is on, we can see the players, we only want to play and teach them how we want them to play our tactics, strategy, our patterns and our style which is different from the clubs side that’s what we are doing.” He said.

Nigeria U23 Eagles defeated Tanzania 3-1 on aggregate to face Guinea U23 national team in the last round of the CAF U23 African Nations Cup qualifier in Abuja on 22nd March, 2023.
