Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has called on Nigerians, particularly residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to support FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over the ongoing construction of the Apo–Karshi Road in Abuja.
The Apo–Karshi Road is a key arterial route linking parts of the FCT with neighbouring Nasarawa State. When completed, it is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and improve movement for residents, commuters and businesses along the corridor.
Adeyanju recalled the prolonged challenges that have stalled the project over the years and said Wike’s renewed push to complete the road deserves public backing and commendation.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Adeyanju, a long-standing critic of the minister, said the speed and quality of work currently being carried out on the road were noteworthy.

“Even as a consistent critic of Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, I must sincerely commend him for the remarkable speed and level of work currently ongoing on the Apo–Karshi Road,” he said.
He noted that the road, which had seen years of slow progress, is now recording visible and measurable advancement.
“That road has been under construction for years with little progress, but the pace of work now is both visible and commendable. Credit should be given where it is due,” Adeyanju added.
