AFCON 2023: Iheanacho fit, ready to face Cote d’Ivoire — Peseiro

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro says Kelechi Iheanacho is fully recovered from his injury.

Iheanacho missed Nigeria’s pre-2023 Africa Cup of Nations training tour in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates due to a muscular problem.

The Leicester City star linked up with the rest of the squad on Sunday morning and was named among the substitutes in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea.

“Kelechi has recovered fully from his injury. He has trained very well since his arrival here,” Peseiro told reporters in Abidjan.

“It’s good to have him here with us. He is a key member of the team. We will see if he will be able to start against Cote d’Ivoire.”
