Senate President Godswill Akpabio has congratulated the Super Eagles on their qualification for the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the national team as the pride of Nigeria.
He hailed the Super Eagles’ 2–0 victory over Algeria in Saturday’s quarter-final in Marrakech, saying the result reflected the team’s discipline, resilience and collective strength.

“The Super Eagles have once again made the nation proud with an impressive performance that earned them a deserved place in the semi-finals,” the Senate President said.
Akpabio urged the players to sustain their focus and momentum ahead of Wednesday’s semi-final clash against host nation Morocco, assuring them of the full support of the 10th Senate and Nigerians at home and abroad.
“We are firmly behind you. Go out there with confidence and bring the trophy home,” he added.
