The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has congratulated former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on his emergence as the Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a letter addressed to the victorious presidential aspirant on Wednesday, the minister urged Asiwaju Tinubu to be leader for all, adding that his emergence proved his political sagacity and doggedness over the years.

It would be recalled that Asiwaju Tinubu on Wednesday defeated 14 other contestants to emerge as the presidential candidate of the ruling party for the March 2023 election.

He polled a remarkable 1,271 votes to win the ticket with former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi a distant second with 316 votes while Vice President Yemi Osinbajo came third with 235 votes.

Seven of the 23 contestants withdrew from the race to support Asiwaju Tinubu.

“I am elated and deeply proud to celebrate with you on your emphatic victory at the just concluded presidential primary election of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC),” Dare said.”This is no doubt a validation of your political astuteness and stewardship over the decades.”

“You have been called to a higher service at a time Nigeria needs more experienced hands to help solve our prevailing challenges.

“You carry a ray of hope for Nigeria and I urge you to bear the torch of leadership with foresight, humility, determination, consideration for others and with a fierce conviction that you will be a leader for all and of all,” he added.
