Top seed Abua Canice will face defending champion Emmanuel Michael in today’s men’s singles final of the 47th Central Bank of Nigeria Senior Tennis Championship in Abuja.
The women’s singles title will be contested by Etoro Bassey and Success Ogunjobi at the Tennis Complex, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium.
Nigeria’s number one-ranked player and tournament top seed, Abua, secured a place in his first-ever CBN Senior Tennis Championship final after defeating eighth seed Yusuf Abubakar 6-3, 6-4 in Friday’s semi-final clash.

The defending champion, Emmanuel Michael, seeded third, will make his second consecutive appearance in the final after coming from behind to beat an unseeded Jimoh Joseph 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.
In the women’s singles, seed 5 Etoro Bassey defeated Emmanuel-Essien Bright 2-1 (6-0, 1-6, 6-4), while seed 6 Success Ogunjobi eliminated women’s top seed Mohammed Khadijat 2-1 (6-4, 4-6, 6-1) to set up an all-unseeded-bracket final.
The grand finale across all categories holds today, June 20.
