Bayelsa Queens Football Club of Yenagoa, on Thursday defeated Racing Athletic Casablanca 11-0 in a friendly game played at the Magic Village in Casablanca, Morocco.
Six goals in the first half from Itimi Mercy, two from Flourish Sabastine and a hat-trick from Juliet Sunday was all Bayelsa Queens needed to put the game beyond the reach of their opponent, as they dominated proceedings.
On resumption of the second half, Racing Athletic Casablanca took the game to Bayelsa Queens as they played better in the first ten minutes of the second half. But it was Mariam Ezenagu that opened the flood gate of goals in the second half as she scored two goals with Chinyere Igboamalu also getting a brace.
The Prosperity Girls piled in the pressure on Racing Athletic Casablanca which resulted in a goal scored by a Racing defender as she tried to clear her line.
Despite the huge score line, Technical Adviser Bayelsa Queens FC, Domo Okara said they have not got there yet and that it is still work in progress.
He added that the loop hole noticed during the friendly game will be fixed before the team’s first match on Monday against defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the CAF Women Champions League.
