“Boboye Commends Team as Sunshine Stars Defeat Bayelsa United”

Date:

Sunshine Stars’ head coach, Kennedy Boboye, has commended his players for their resilience following their 1-0 victory over Bayelsa United at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa during the ongoing Governor Douye Diri Preseason Tournament.

New signing Ismail Ayodele scored the decisive goal in the 35th minute. Despite the win over the Prosperity Boys in front of their home fans, Boboye emphasized that the Owena Whales still have progress to make.

He noted that the Diri Preseason Tournament is being used as a crucial opportunity to evaluate his squad in preparation for the 2024/25 season.

“We are not there yet; we are just a week in, by the time we stay together for two or three weeks, we will be better than what people are seeing here,” Boboye told the club’s media.”We will work on the areas where we observed we are not doing well.

“Our target is to win the league; nothing short of that,” he said.

Sunshine Stars will next face Akwa United today by 10:30am.
