CAF U23 AFCON: Guinea Face Burundi For Olympic Eagles

Date:

Guinea U23 national team will face Burundi on November 19 in an international friendly match as part of their preparations for the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Nigeria.

The friendly encounter, according to a release by the Guinea Football Federation, will hold at the Grande Stade de Marrakech, Morocco, on November 19.

The Guineans made it to the final qualifying round without kicking a ball following the withdrawal of their opponents, Uganda.

The Olympic Eagles, on the other hand, defeated the Serengeti Boys of Tanzania 3-1 on aggregate to set up a date with their fellow West Africans. Having drew 1-1 in Dar es Salam in Tanzania, the 2015 CAF U23 AFCON champions won 2-0 in the second leg in Nigeria.

Nigeria will host Guinea in the first leg of the last round between March 20-28, 2023, at the Lekan Salami Stadium Adamasingba, Ibadan.

The reverse fixture will take place a week later in Guinea.

The 2023 U-23 AFCON, which will be hosted by Morocco, will serve as the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games billed for Paris, France.
