CAFCL: LIBYAN REFEREE FOR CR BELOUIZDAD,AKWA UNITED RETURN LEG CLASH

The Confederation of African Football – CAF has appointed Shuhoub Abdulbasit from Libya as the centre referee for the return leg of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round fixture between CR Belouizdad of Algeria and Akwa United FC of Nigeria at the Stade Omar Hamadi in Algiers.

Abdulbasit promoted by FIFA in January 2020 was a match official in the CAF Champions League game between CS Sfaxien of Tunisia and Mlandege SC of Tanzania last year.

He will be assisted by his compatriots Salah Elshuogi who will serve as Assistant Referee 1, Wahed Al Jahawe Assistant Referee 2 and Agha Mohammed as the Fourth Official.

CAF also appointed Yaccine Harrouch from Tunisia as Match Commissioner while Abdelmadjid Zergumi from Algeria will be the Covid-19 hygiene officer.

The match billed for Sunday September 19 will kickoff by 9pm local time as Nigerian Champions, Akwa United will be hoping to consolidate on the one nil victory in the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium last Sunday when they face the home side and Algerian Champions, CR Belouizdad
