Champions League: Man Utd facing UEFA punishment after 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid

UEFA are considering punishing Manchester United following their 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16 second leg on Tuesday night.

The loss saw the Red Devils eliminated from the competition on a 2-1 aggregate.

After the match at Old Trafford, Atleti manager Diego Simeone was pelted with drinks and other objects from home fans as he ran into the dressing room.

Simeone claims he was not aware United fans pelted him, but pundits have slammed the shameful behaviour of the supporters.

However, the UK Metro reports the club will likely face punishment from UEFA after the scenes inside the stadium after the final whistle.
