The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has applauded the impressive performance of Team Edo athletes at the 13th Korean Ambassador Taekwondo Championship held in Abuja.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by his Media Officer, Edoko Wilson Edoko, Hon. Enabulele described the athletes’ exploits as outstanding and a source of pride for Edo State.
“I am particularly thrilled by James Enomfon’s exceptional performance in the 57kg category, where she won a gold medal at the championship,” Enabulele said.
He also commended the efforts of other Edo athletes who excelled at the competition, including Ugo Ngozi, Ude Justina, and Solomon Alegu, who all won silver medals.

Hon. Enabulele noted that the athletes’ success is a direct result of the Edo State Government’s strategic investment in grassroots sports development. “This feat is a clear testament to Governor Monday Okpebholo’s unwavering commitment to building a vibrant and competitive sports culture in Edo State,” he stated.
Looking ahead, the sports commission chairman expressed optimism about the team’s future. “Our athletes have distinguished themselves at this championship, and I am confident these victories will inspire even greater performances in future competitions,” he added.
At the close of the championship, which ran from October 17 to 19, 2025, Team Edo athletes secured one gold and three silver medals — reinforcing Edo’s reputation as a force in Nigeria’s sporting landscape.
