The Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Desmond Amadin Enabulele, has assured that every necessary step is being taken to ensure Edo Queens successfully represent Nigeria at the upcoming WAFU B Women’s Champions League.

Speaking exclusively to FAKS MEDIA on Thursday, the sports administrator said the Commission, with the full support of the Edo State Government, is strengthening the squad with quality players capable of competing at the highest level.

According to Enabulele, discussions are already at an advanced stage with outstanding players identified from other clubs, with some having agreed to join Edo Queens ahead of the regional championship.

“We are working very hard to build a formidable team. We have identified quality players from other clubs to strengthen the squad, and some of them have already agreed to join us,” he said.

He added that the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo is committed to achieving success in sports and is providing the necessary support to ensure Edo Queens excel on the continental stage.

“Our government is result-oriented, and we are doing everything possible to build a team that will not only conquer West Africa but also Africa by the grace of God,” Enabulele stated.

Edo Queens will represent Nigeria at the WAFU B Women’s Champions League, scheduled to take place in Burkina Faso from August 25 to September 5, with the tournament winners earning qualification for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
