LAGOS – Unicorn Sports has announced that its 2026 Summer Camp will hold from August 3 to August 12 at Chrisland College, Idimu, Lagos, with organisers unveiling a programme designed to combine sports development with leadership and personal growth for young participants.

The camp, which targets children and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 17, will feature training in football, basketball, swimming, track and field, and other sporting activities under the supervision of experienced coaches.

According to the organisers, this year’s programme will introduce international coaching standards through the engagement of an experienced foreign football coach, who will oversee the camp’s technical curriculum. Daily sessions are expected to focus on tactical awareness, player development, and modern youth coaching methods.

As part of efforts to create pathways for talented young athletes, two accredited football scouts are also expected to attend the camp to identify outstanding participants for possible opportunities, including placements at football academies, international development programmes, and sports scholarship opportunities.

Project Director, Aina Joseph Babatunde, said the camp is designed to extend beyond sports training by equipping participants with important life skills.

“Our objective is not only to improve the sporting abilities of the children but also to help them develop leadership qualities, discipline, confidence, teamwork and other values that will positively influence their future,” he said.

He added that the programme has been structured to encourage participants to balance sporting excellence with academic and social development.

The organisers disclosed that this year’s camp fees have been subsidised by the company’s chairman, Adebayo Oluwasegun, to make participation more accessible to families.

The subsidised fees are ₦500,000 for boarding participants and ₦300,000 for day campers.

Organisers also said participation will be limited in order to maintain a favourable coach-to-player ratio and provide more personalised instruction across the different age categories.
