Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that the Premier League title may already be out of reach following a tough run of results.
Guardiola suffered his first-ever four consecutive defeats as a manager after City were beaten 2-1 by Brighton on Saturday.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side came from behind to take all three points.
Joao Pedro cancelled out Erling Haaland’s opener, before Matt O’Riley scored the winner on his Premier League debut.
Liverpool then beat Aston Villa 2-0 to go five points clear at the top of the table.
“Maybe after seven years winning six Premier Leagues, maybe one year another team deserves it,” Guardiola told reporters after the game.
