EPL: Sacked Wolves boss Lage holds onto positive memories

Former Wolves manager, Bruno Lage, has issued a statement after his sacking by the club.

The 46-year-old lost his job after a very poor start to the Premier League season, with Wolves dropping into the relegation zone after six points from their first eight matches.

However, Lage is choosing to hold onto the positive memories that he shared with players, staff, and fans at the English club.

He wrote on Instagram: “I am remarkably honoured to have served Wolverhampton F.C. I am indebted to chairman Guo and Jeff for such opportunity. I am also indebted to every one working at the club for making me feel at home.

“To the players, for their professionalism and commitment with us. To the supporters, which backed me since the very beginning.

“We leave behind a successful first season, with many remarkable matches and a record 9 away wins for Wolves in the Premier League. Now, your full support is more important.
