Gerard Pique’s FC Andorra make offer for Hannibal Mejbri

FC Andorra, the Spanish second division side owned by Gerard Pique, are eager to sign Manchester United prospect Hannibal Mejbri.

Andorra are looking to take Mejbri on loan but want an option included in the deal that would enable them to sign the midfielder for £21million.

Championship clubs Birmingham and West Bromwich Albion are also interested in a loan deal for Mejbri and their interest is more favoured by United.

West Brom manager Steve Bruce is eager to bring in a central midfielder and is also considering a move for Fabian Delph, who is a free agent after leaving Everton.

The youngster has made three senior appearances for United, with all of those games coming in the Premier League.

Mejbri, 19, has three years remaining on his contract at United.

Former United and current Barcelona defender Pique purchased FC Andorra in December 2018 with his company Kosmos Holding Group. This season they are competing in the Spanish second division for the first time in their history.

FC Andorra have a capacity of just 3,306 at their Estadi Nacional ground. Earlier this month it was announced that the club have plans of building a new 6,000-seater stadium on the site of the Camp de Futbol de Prada de Moles.

Founded in 1942 as the first football club in Andorra, they then joined the categories of the Catalan Football Federation.

So far this season FC Andorra have won one and lost one of their two league games.
