Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is set to sign the 2026 Appropriation Bill, estimated at N892 billion, into law today, Monday, the state government announced.
The confirmation came in a statement on Sunday by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan. The ceremony will take place at the Executive Council Chambers of the Governor’s Office, following the House of Assembly’s passage of the bill last week after detailed deliberations.
Governor Makinde presented the budget proposal, titled Budget of Economic Expansion, to the Assembly on November 24, 2025, with a total estimate of N891,985,074,480.79. He described the 2026 budget as a framework to consolidate stability and drive productivity and inclusive growth across the state.

The statement listed dignitaries expected at the signing ceremony, including Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, Speaker of the House Adebo Ogundoyin, and Chief Judge Iyabo Yerima.
Other notable attendees will include former Deputy Governors Hamid Gbadamosi, Hazeem Gbolarumi, and Taofeek Arapaja; former Speaker Monsurat Sunmonu; the Deputy Speaker of the House; and members of the Assembly’s Appropriation Committee.
Leaders of the state Elders’ Council, Advisory Council, Peoples Democratic Party, Local Government Chairmen, labour unions, religious groups, and traditional rulers are also expected to grace the occasion.
