The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians about a recall of Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles sold in France following the detection of undeclared milk and egg ingredients, which could pose serious risks to individuals with food allergies.
NAFDAC clarified that the alert does not affect Indomie noodles produced in Nigeria. The affected product is linked solely to France, where the recall was issued by Rappel Conso, France’s official food safety authority.
According to NAFDAC, laboratory tests conducted in France found milk and eggs in the noodles, yet these ingredients were not listed on the product label. The oversight could trigger severe allergic reactions in people sensitive to milk or eggs.
The recall applies to all batches of the noodles with a best-before date of February 6, 2026. While the recall notice did not specify the country of manufacture, it was officially issued by the French authorities, not by Nigerian regulators.
In a statement under Public Alert No. 041/2025 dated December 18, 2025, NAFDAC said:
“The French Authority (Rappel Conso of France) issued a recall notice for Indomie Vegetable Flavour noodles due to the presence of undeclared allergens, specifically milk and eggs, which may pose serious health risks to consumers with allergies or intolerances.”

Although Nigeria has banned noodle imports, NAFDAC warned that the recalled product could still enter the country through smuggling, online purchases, or travellers returning from abroad.
“While the risk of these products entering Nigeria is low due to the Federal Government’s ban, vigilance is necessary to prevent illicit circulation of the implicated Indomie brand,” the agency stated.
NAFDAC has instructed zonal directors and state coordinators nationwide to intensify monitoring and immediately seize the product if found in the country.
The agency advised distributors, retailers, and consumers to exercise caution and avoid selling or consuming the foreign-recalled noodles.
Consumers who encounter the product are urged to discard it immediately and report any sightings to the nearest NAFDAC office or via the agency’s toll-free line: 0800-162-3322.
Any health issues or allergic reactions suspected to be linked to the recalled product should also be reported through NAFDAC offices or the agency’s online reporting platforms.
