Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen struck a stoppage-time winner on Friday as Galatasaray edged Samsunspor 3-2 in a pulsating Super Lig encounter.
Galatasaray, seeking to rebound from a Champions League loss to Union St. Gilloise and a draw with Fenerbahçe, started on the front foot. Leroy Sané opened the scoring in the eighth minute, finishing off a flowing move to give the hosts early control.
Osimhen extended the lead in the 29th minute, latching onto Sané’s decisive pass and firing beyond goalkeeper Okan Kocuk to send Galatasaray into the break 2-0 up.
Samsunspor responded strongly after the restart. Anthony Musaba halved the deficit in the 56th minute, setting up a tense second half. Their pressure paid off two minutes from time when Emre Kilinc curled in a fine equaliser from the edge of the area.

But Osimhen restored the champions’ advantage deep into added time with an acrobatic bicycle kick, securing a vital win and silencing Samsunspor’s late surge.
The result pushes Galatasaray to 36 points from 15 matches, extending their lead over second-placed Fenerbahçe to four. Samsunspor remain fifth on 25 points.
Osimhen’s brace takes his season tally for the club to 11 goals—five in the league and six in the Champions League—bringing his total for club and country to 16.
