Qatar 2022: France deny rift between between Pavard and Deschamps

France national team have strongly denied claims regarding a possible training ground bust up at the World Cup.

The French confidently marched into the quarter finals of the competition, which they won four years ago.

However, a report in the French press stated that a bust up occurred between Bayern Munich right-back Benjamin Pavard and coach Didier Deschamps.

Deschamps explained his decision to bench Pavard by saying: “I took the decision not to play him. I won’t go into the details.

“I’ve had several conversations with him. I don’t consider him to be in the right disposition.

“So you’ll ask me, Is it physical, is it in his head?’. The first match didn’t help, of course. That’s why I made a different choice.”

However, French outlet outlet RTL went on to say that there are no issues between the pair.

France are set to take on England in the World Cup quarter finals on Saturday.
