QPR rescue late draw against relegation rivals Huddersfield

QPR’s Kenneth Paal equalised deep into stoppage time to salvage a 1-1 draw against Championship relegation rivals Huddersfield at Loftus Road on Sunday.

Jack Rudoni’s 86th-minute goal put Huddersfield on the brink of three vital points against third-bottom QPR in the battle to avoid dropping into League One.

But Ilias Chair’s right-wing cross was kneed into the top corner of the net by left-back Paal in the final stages to rescue QPR.

A win would have taken QPR out of the relegation zone, where they have been since September, and leapfrogged Huddersfield.

Instead, the draw means the gap between fourth-bottom Huddersfield and the west Londoners remains at three points.
