SD Ponferradina manager Jose Gomes has showered encomium on Nigerian midfielder, Kelechi Nwakali.
The Spanish Segunda Division outfit unveiled Nwakali on Tuesday.
“At the U17 World Cup, he (Nwakali) was the best player and it was not an accident,” Gomes told the club’s official website
“He is very intelligent, he knows how to take up space, he has good passes, dribbles well and delivers good pull-outs.”
Nwakali was sacked by another Spanish Segunda Division club, SD Huesca in March.
The 23-year-old fell out with the club after returning late from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in February.
He has previously played for Arsenal, VVV Venlo, MVV Maastricht, Porto, and Alcorcon.
