Team Delta has once again established themselves as a shooting power house in the country following their stellar performances at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Ogun state, Gateway Games 2024.
Led by the incredible shooting couple, Okposo and Kate Esugo, Team Delta won 8 gold medals, 3 silvers with 2 bronze to finish second behind the host state Ogun which won 9 gold medals.
Recall that the Esugo’s both broke existing national records. While Kate Esugo with her team broke the existing national record in the Female 10m Air Rifle event with an impressive 591.9 score, Okposo broke the national record with his team in the Male 10m Air Rifle event with a score of 591.7.
The coach of Team Delta Shooting squad, Emmanuel Edigbe praised his team for their brilliant performance.
“I’m impressed with my team but I believe we could have done better” he told Sportsday in Abeokuta, Ogun state.
Team Delta still maintain their unassailable lead on the overall medals table as curtains draw at the National Sports Festival, Ogun 2024 Games.
