It was genuine joy and huge celebrations for smart city feeders, on Saturday, as they broke the hearts of stubborn young strikers fc and picked a ticket for the next stage of the Lagos fa cup, over the weekend, SportsDayOnline.com report.
The game which was played at the graciously refurbished Maracana stadium, was heavily contested by both teams, but, it was city who smiled home with victory, with an 89th minute header, by defence stalwart Moshood Adebayo, who rose heightest to nod home the only goal in the dying minutes of the game, from a Jabal Umar’s perfect cross.
The game which ended goalless in the first half, saw city missing some very glaring chances to put the game to bed.
The Festus Odini, tortured side, came out even more determined and brave in the second half, because they knew what is at stake, and with the introduction of players, like, Jabal Umar, Kelvin Osas, Ayo Ajayi, did the damage for city, as their pace and skills, were too much for the young strikers tc defenders to handle.

Speaking after the game, city coach, Festus Odini, said, “I am so overwhelmed with joy, because my boys made me proud with this victory. I have always believed in these young players, and I thank everyone, for this huge victory. He said.
“We will continue to do our best to make sure we win the fa cup this season” he added.
Meanwhile, smart city feeders, will play their next game of the fa cup against Gbagada fc on Tuesday at the Navy stadium, Ajegunle.
