Top Nigerian Athletes Storm Benin City For World Championships, Commonwealth Games Ticket

All is now set for what would be a ‘Championship of Stars’ in Nigeria as top athletes are set to storm Benin City, Edo State to jostle for qualification to represent Nigeria at the Athletics World Championship and the Commonwealth Games.

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria(AFN) announced that the championship will take place between June 21 – June 23 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo State.

Top athletes from Europe, United States of America and within Nigeria are expected to compete in the 3-day event which would provide the country with the opportunity to pick her representatives to the showpiece events.

The World Athletics Championship will take place between July 15 – July 24 at Oregon, United States of America(USA)while the Commonwealth Games will hold between July 28 – August 8, in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
