Manchester United is ‘unsure’ over some part of Victor Osimhen’s game as he takes the decision on which striker, between the Nigeria international and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, would work well in his system.
Ten Hag will make a decision over Manchester United’s priority transfer target this summer and will choose between Kane or Osimhen.
United have made the signing of a new striker their focus for the next transfer window and The Telegraph reports that the England captain and the free-scoring Nigerian are the two shortlisted players.
According to the report, the Dutchman has been following Osimhen’s performances for Napoli since the start of the season but is ‘unsure’ over some parts of the striker’s game.
Meanwhile, the report added that the former Ajax boss understands that England international Kane offers a ‘unique skillset’ and would be a ‘strong character’ at United.
Both Kane and Osimhen are likely to cost United at least £100 million but the Super Eagles striker would offer the Dutchman a longer-term solution if he proves to be a success.
Napoli would also command in excess of £100m for Osimhen, who is the top scorer in Serie A this season with 16 goals for Napoli. Since joining the Italian club from Lille in a €81.3m (£72.4m) deal in 2020, Osimhen has scored 45 goals in 83 appearances.
