In a statement, the Media Information Officer of the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North-East), Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, said the recovery highlighted the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations and the value of community cooperation in forestalling security threats.

Lt. Col. Uba disclosed that troops worked alongside Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams to secure the location and are currently draining the channel to ascertain whether additional hazardous materials are hidden there.

He said the exercise forms part of sustained efforts to dominate the area, safeguard critical infrastructure and guarantee the safety of residents, adding that the security situation remains calm with troops on high alert.

The military urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious items or movements to security agencies, stressing that collective responsibility is crucial to sustaining peace and security in the North-East.
