Tunisia coach Sami Trabelsi has confirmed that his side has mapped out a tactical plan to neutralise Nigeria’s attacking threat ahead of Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations Group C clash in Fez, Morocco.

The Eagles of Carthage go into the encounter as group leaders on goal difference, level on points with the Super Eagles, who opened their campaign with a 2-1 win over Tanzania.

Asked how Tunisia intends to cope with Nigeria’s key forwards, including Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon, Trabelsi said his team would rely on collective discipline rather than special measures for individual players.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Tunisian coach stressed the importance of focus and organisation, noting that his side would approach Nigeria as it would any top opponent at the tournament.

“We must stay focused and maintain a high level of concentration against any team and any type of player,” Trabelsi said. “We are a team that believes in a collective approach, defensively and offensively.”

He added that Tunisia’s emphasis would be on structure and teamwork, insisting that no Nigerian player would receive exceptional attention, but that strong collective organisation could limit the impact of even the biggest stars.

Nigeria and Tunisia have met six times at the Africa Cup of Nations finals, with the Super Eagles recording three wins, Tunisia one, while two matches ended in draws.
