Grassrunners Set For Greenlock Summer Football Tournament

Fast rising football club, Grassrunners FC is set to compete in the fourth -coming Greenlock FC Summer Football Tournament, Sportsday newspaper has exclusively gathered.

The 8-team tournament we are told will kickstart from July 19 – July 23, 2024.

In a chat with the Ikene, Remo, Ogun state – based side director, Gbenga Agbejoye, he stated that the team is ready for the challenge.

According to Agbejoye, they may be a newly established side, but undermine them at your own peril.

 “We are happy and ready to compete in the Greenlock FC Summer Football Tournament which begins later this month.

“The tournament will afford us an opportunity to further expose the boys and also see them in a competition situation.

“It’s not basically or primarily about winning but more about the players and team overall performance.

“We are still building as a team, which this competition will afford us the opportunity to see and correct any noticeable errors in the team”, he noted

The teams billed to participate in the 5-day tournament are: Right 2 Win, Grassrunners FC, TCCG FC, Best Talent FC, Magic Stars FC, Stars Builders Academy, Ojudu City FC and host team, Greenlock FC.

Recall that Grassrunners were in Egypt for a scouting tournament in May this year where they came from up against the best U-19 sides in the ancient pyramid city.
