Inter Milan gave me unique joy, says Chelsea striker Lukaku

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has declared his love for Inter Milan.

Lukaku has just completed his loan with the Nerazzurri, though has hopes of returning.

He told Amazon Prime: “I still remember the first day I signed for Inter. I landed, the people, the weather, the food… My family felt good there, for it was everything. I was fine with it. If we hadn’t won anything, no trophy, I would have been very disappointed. That’s it. It was a motivation to win. The first year we lost, it was very bitter. Then we became champions.

“I felt motivated. I felt that I had reached the next level and that it would help me throughout the season. And then when it happened I thought ‘we did it. Romelu, you really did it’.

And then it all stopped and there it all started. Sometimes in life you can be an entrepreneur, a doctor, an artist, that’s it but a moment like that, that song, that day. Everyone hopes to have that moment in their life, that moment when you think ‘I’m where I want to be’.

“For me it was then when I thought ‘ok, I did it’. And I showed my emotions on the pitch for the first time. An emotion of pure joy. I was overjoyed.”
