Nigeria’s Female Yellow Greens will battle Brazil for the bronze medal at the 2026 Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament on Saturday, seeking to end their campaign on a winning note at the Gahanga International Cricket Stadium.
The Nigerian side booked a place in the third-place playoff after an 11-run defeat to hosts Rwanda in their final round-robin fixture, a result that left them fourth on the standings.

Despite strong individual displays from Christabel Chukwuonye, who claimed four wickets for 18 runs, and Esther Sandy, who top-scored with 63 off 53 balls, Nigeria fell short while chasing 132, finishing on 120 for nine. Rwanda’s Belyse Murekatete also impressed with three wickets for 21 runs.
Brazil, who finished third on the table, also missed out on a place in the final after losing to Rwanda and Zimbabwe High Performance XI, who progressed to the title clash.
For Nigeria, Saturday’s fixture offers a final opportunity to salvage a positive finish to their Kwibuka 2026 campaign. Victory would also represent a significant scalp — Brazil have not dropped a game against them all tournament.
