Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has assured Nigerians that the reforms being implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are designed to advance national development and improve security.
Governor Okpebholo spoke at an interdenominational prayer service at his residence in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area, stressing that robust strategies, in collaboration with security agencies, are in place to safeguard lives and property across the country.
He called on Nigerians to continue praying for President Tinubu and his administration, describing prayers as crucial to the successful delivery of election promises.
“Consistent prayers and effective collaboration with security agencies have improved the security situation in Edo State. While we are working to develop the state, some individuals are attempting to distract our efforts and set Edo on the path of retrogression. I appeal for your prayers to frustrate the enemies of the state,” Okpebholo said.

The governor assured that both his administration and President Tinubu are committed to ensuring safety and stability. “The kidnappings, cultism, and criminal activities we saw yesterday shall be a thing of the past. We are determined to make Edo State safer for all residents,” he added.
Okpebholo highlighted Tinubu’s policies and economic reforms, noting they are far-reaching and intended to drive sustainable national and state development. “Deliberate strategies are being implemented to secure sustained progress in Edo State, but critics are making concerted efforts to distract the government and hinder development. We need prayers for our land because, without prayers, development will be difficult. Businesses will not thrive, and economic activities will suffer,” he stated.
In his sermon, titled Crossing Over with Gratitude, Reverend Francis Okhale urged the congregation to thank God for the progress in Edo State. “We are here to honour God Almighty for what He is doing through Governor Monday Okpebholo for the people of Edo. The impact of his administration is visible in infrastructural development, including flyovers, schools, hospitals, and other critical projects,” he said.
